Forms

Floria called her doctor.

“Dr. Escalona’s office, how may I help you?” the voice on the end of the line sang.

“Yes, I’m calling about the form I submitted five weeks ago?”

“Your name?”

“Floria Squire.”

“Oh, yes, I see here. We actually need the form from the privacy office, so you have to call them at – ”

“One moment,” Floria interrupted. “I had to get a form from the government to get a form from my physician to get a form for my boss at work to get a form from a specialist to get a form from my work’s HR department to get a form for you to fill out, and now I need another form from the privacy office?”

“Yes ma’am. I’m afraid that’s the case.”

Floria sighed, and sat silently for a moment.

“Ma’am?” the voice said.

“What’s the number.”

The voice on the other end told her, and she thanked them, hung up, and walked away from the phone for a few minutes to calm down.
