Juliet pressed the trigger once more, and the drill whirred.
Last bolt in place. The one millionth car. Juliet smiled. Time for a break.
Putting the drill on the floor, she straightened her back. Beside her, Percy and Mel offered their hands for high fives. She met them both in the air.
“One million cars,” Percy said. “Hell of a thing.”
“It sure is,” Juliet said. Time for a vacation!”
“Well done everyone,” the announcement came over the intercom. “You’ve made a million cars! Now, we have a big order to finish for tomorrow, so another forty-five need to be finished today. Back to the line, and we can celebrate on Saturday.”
Juliet sighed, met her colleagues’ eyes, then picked up the drill again. Back to it.
