Words could not convey what Minah felt for Annie.
She never tried words anyway. She just stared at the woman, across the table, two tables away. Annie noticed this, and shifted in her seat, uncomfortable. Minah smiled at Annie’s adorable little wiggles.
Annie turned around, trying to see if something was going on behind her. Seeing nothing, she tried wiping her face. Nothing came off.
Minah chuckled, then winked. Annie’s eyes grew large. She stood and moved to the other side of the table, her back now to Minah. She could still feel Minah watching, though, and after a moment she stood and left.
Minah stood to follow.
