On The Toilet

Edgar sat on the toilet and stared forward.

He had made that fatal mistake of all young people in modern times. His phone sat out on the coffee table, a room and a half away. He could hear it now, buzzing with texts. He knew his team was attacking a fortress without him, wondering where he was. He knew there was so much he could be doing.

But here he was. Alone. On the toilet. Staring at the wall, faced with the crushing void of existence. He stared into nothing. Nothing threatened to swallow him whole.

Edgar sat as the boredom crushed him.
